Three Lyons Creative > Work > Buck Dinner
CLIENT
The Buck Dinner (Fund for Equal Justice) has funded hundreds of organizations and causes since its beginnings in 1929. This unique annual gathering in Metro-Detroit, Michigan, has grown to some 800 attendees. The Buck Dinner raises funds to provide grants to organizations and programs that work for social justice.
OBJECTIVE
Livestream the annual Buck Dinner event in order to create a viewing experience that audiences enjoy and inspires them to give generously.
PROCESS
Careful planning was given to match the tone of the annual event — graphics were hand drawn, camera movement was organic, tasteful behind the scenes moments were revealed, and the fundraising elements were calm. Three Lyons Creative (3LC) utilized a mix of pre-recorded videos and live filming to create a dynamic and engaging event. The event included live music, a fundraising progress ticker, and cut aways to speakers and performers who were not on location. 3LC used a two camera set up with one stationary and one on a gimbal so that viewers had a close up concert experience.
OUTCOME
The event reached their fundraising goal during the livestream and donations continued to come in through the night. The virtual event was a great success and the organizers were able to share tens of grants with folks working for peace, justice, and equality.
